The Fragile Balance of Trust, Respect, and Love in Marriage

The Fragile Balance of Trust, Respect, and Love in Marriage

They say marriages are made in "HEAVEN", but it has to face trial and tribulations on "EARTH". True romantic love is neither earned nor is it automatically given. It is a unique, spontaneous connection that just happens between two people. It is a mystical, cosmic feel to it, as though some supernatural force facilitated it. It is based on mutual attraction and involves being able to see a part of yourself in the other person and vice versa.

But the truth is, you cannot make someone love you. You cannot force love, cannot shape love, cannot control love, and cannot try to love someone into loving you back. Love is about falling into something, someone where all the pieces just fit. We meet people and we try to put them into little boxes, try to shape them into the relationship we’re destined to have, try to hold them to expectations way too high and too specific to be real.

Even marriage does not guarantee that you will be together forever. It is only a paper. It takes trust, respect, love, understanding, friendship, and faith to make it last! The simple truth is that happy marriages are based on a deep friendship. By this, I mean a mutual respect for and enjoyment of each other’s company. When two givers indulge in a connection, it’s like magic. It’s alchemy. I water you, you water me,

Even a bond of marriage cannot hold a relationship together, if it is bereft of love. A marriage cannot guarantee a successful relationship, but a love can foster that relationship.
